How we rank

Published under Article 5 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1150. This page describes every parameter that determines the order in which listings appear. It was written before we had ever taken a payment, deliberately.

The organic order

ParameterWeightWhat it measures
Soonest upcoming dateprimaryThe programme happening soonest ranks first - what a reader planning a trip came to find. Already-running programmes follow, ordered by when they finish; ones with an undated rolling admission come next; ones whose every date has passed fall to the end.
Completeness scoretie-breakAmong programs with the same upcoming date, the one for which we hold more of six fields ranks first: dates, a declared price state, venue coordinates we are confident in, a published timetable, a booking channel, and at least one fetched source. A declared "price on request" counts as complete - it is a fact about the market, not a gap in our data.
Title, alphabeticallyfinal tie-breakA deterministic last tie-break, so identical dates and scores produce a stable, reproducible order.

That is the entire list. No popularity signal, no click-through weighting, no commercial input, no manual editorial boost. You can re-sort the index yourself by date, price or title at any time; that choice is yours and is not recorded.

What does not affect ranking

When paid placement exists

It does not yet. When it does, three properties will hold, and they are built into the software rather than into a policy document:

Differentiated treatment

We give no advantage to ourselves or any related party. We do not sell retreats and hold no ownership interest in any listed venue, teacher or operator.

Changes

Any change to the parameters above is recorded as a numbered architecture decision record in the public repository and announced here before it takes effect.
